8 Tips to Grow Your Personal Brand on Twitter

When it comes to growing your personal brand, there are three things you need to concentrate on: work, work, and more work. It really does take a lot of hard work to grow a personal brand on social media, because you only have so much to work with. Take Twitter for instance.

You have just 140 characters to get your message out there. You need to come up with ways to do this in a way that makes people want to learn more about your brand. Here are some tips for growing your personal brand on Twitter.

1. Develop a Brand Voice

How do you want people to see your brand? Are you serious, or more laid back? Your brand voice should show the nature of your business.

When developing a brand voice, think about your target audience, and above all, always be yourself. Customers can see right through phoniness.

2. Upgrade Your Profile

Your profile is one of the first things people are going to see, so you need to make sure it really stands out.

On Twitter, you get 140 characters for your bio, so take time to make sure that you get the most out of this short message. Everything in your bio should be consistent with your brand.

3. Brand Visuals

You should already be creating visual content to share on social media, and you need to brand that visual content. This is going to make images and videos easily recognizable as coming from you and your brand, and people will remember you.

If you can afford it, try to hire a designer to create styled images for your brand, or use free simple graphic design software like Canva.

4. Use Online Tools

There are loads of great online tools at your disposal, and you need to use as many as possible for developing your brand and growing it on social media.
Some of the best tools we have found are:

5. Post Regularly

Just like with anything in life, in order to get the most out of social media, you need to keep at it. This means that in order to grow your personal brand on social media, you must be making regular posts.

Use a social media content calendar to make sure that you are not using some platforms too much and others not nearly enough.

6. Get Involved with Followers

It is not enough to make posts and just expect people to continue following you. You need to actually engage with your followers.

Even if you simply send them a “thank you” message, you are showing that you are paying attention to them, and this does get noticed. If they are going to follow you, the least you can do is take the time to let them know they are appreciated.

7. Make Photos More Appealing

Get to know the apps you can use to really make your photos stand out and get noticed on social media. Photos should be taken with high resolution, good lighting, etc.

Of course, you also need to know about good editing practices. It is recommended that you brighten photos, make whites as bright as possible, and that lighting is natural whenever possible.

8. Comment on Photos

If you see photos you like, comment on them. People want to see positive comments (as well as negative if the criticism is constructive), and they are going to tend to remember those who make comments on their photos.

By commenting, you are going to be remembered, and your personal brand will grow. Don’t force comments, and don’t tag in your comment section.
